Engineer Rietz is the Projects Director, who replaced the recently retired Dennis Roberts at Renewable Africa Zimbabwe. His renewable consultancy work is generally executed remotely.
Prior to joining RAZ, Eng. Rietz was the managing director of the Comm Shop, a telecommunications company. He has 33 years in the engineering sector, with specialization in the telecommunications and energy sector. Eng. Rietz was a Board Member at ZESA Holdings (2009-2014) was the chairman of the National Vision 2040 project (2010-2012). Eng. Rietz is a Florida board certified Master Electrician, operating an electrical contracting and service firm. He has a strong passion for renewable energy projects as a part of the overall development of Zimbabwe, having developed and sold a bankable mini-hydro power plant in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe.
Eng. Trust Chifamba and Eng. Kurt Rietz were classmates at the University of Zimbabwe from 1987 to 1990.
